About This Project
The Whiteman Edge development is a proposed new community to be located adjacent to Whiteman Park. The overall project proposes the development of approximately 5,500 residential lots for a population of 14,000 people, a large neighbourhood commercial centre & district community centre. The overall development should also provide public open spaces, a regionally connected transport system & would include retention of 2 wetlands. Phase 1 of the development would be situated on lots 308, 309, 310 & 311, bound by Park St to the north, Woolcott Av to the south, Partridge St to the east & Lord St to the west & proposes approximately 1,200 new residential lots & a large neighbourhood centre. The residential component is envisaged to contain a future 2,700 dwellings. The neighbourhood component proposed supermarkets, fast food services, specialty stores, medical services, dental & childcare services, restaurants, parklands & playgrounds, primary & high schools, recreation facilities, walking & cycling trails, etc. Stage 1 of Phase 1 of the development includes the construction of civil works & services for the creation of approx 140 single residential lots & 1 group housing lot. Stage 1 subdivision works to include clearing, earthworks, siteworks, roads, fencing, footpaths, retaining walls, underground power & streetlights, stormwater drainage, subsoil drainage, wastewater & water reticulation & irrigation.
