About This Project
Demolition of bowling greens, former Police Citizens Youth Club building in Byng St, & retail premises at 225 Anson St. Alterations & additions to existing Orange Ex-Services Club & construction of motel. Alterations to existing club building are proposed so as to upgrade &/or expand facilities & services. Proposed works comprise reorientation of lobby/reception area & central functioning core area towards new on grade carpark facing Byng St; provision of landscaped court through ground & first floor levels; expanded bistro, sports bar, new gaming areas, new lobby & reception, toilets, support areas on ground floor; enlarged auditorium/convention area with improved flexibility on first floor with new restaurants, function rooms, 32 seat cinema, toilets, admin & support areas; rationalisation of back of house area to the south eastern corner of the building; reconstruction of a smaller retail space at 225 Anson St to match existing club; removal of overpass to the memorial hall & continuation of building facade to the north eastern corner of the main building to provide new exit doors at ground level. External finishes comprise painted hebel walls, rendered & painted masonry walls, face brick walls to match existing, powdercoated aluminium window & door frames, colorbond metal roofing, powdercoated fixed metal louvres. An additional extension to the Templers Mill Motel will consist of 52 units + 20 serviced apartments. The majority of the new units will be constructed in a pavilion arrangement alongside existing motel complex. Each pavilion will comprise 3 storey with motel units provided at each level, the pavilions are connected balustrades, 7 new motel units will be constructed at ground level to infill current driveway access for the motel in Byng St. A serviced apartment complex will be constructed over the site of the former PCYC building, involving construction of an on grade carpark with 3 levels of apartments above. External finished comprise face brick walls, slate tile roofing, power coated aluminium window & door frames, glass balustrades & treated stained timber feature cladding. The motel/serviced apartment complex will provide 1, 2 & 3 bedrooms. It is proposed to construct a new 4 level parking deck at the Sale St end of the site with a 2 level gymnasium above. External finishes comprise perforated metal screen ventilating mesh around deck parking, face brick walls & powdercoated aluminium framed windows & doors around the gymnasium, powdercoated aluminium sun screen louvres, colorbond metal roofing. Alterations to existing internal access arrangements. Lower ground carparking beneath existing motel carpark, apartment complex, provision of new parking deck above 3 levels of existing parking on southern end of site, total of 750 carparking spaces.
