About This Project


Alterations & additions to an existing shopping centre. Stage 1 to include construction of new Foodland supermarket (4662 sqm) adjacent to Murray Street with loading dock. An open village square & arcade that provides a link between Gawler Street & the existing carparking areas & landscaped embankment adjoining the river. Alterations to existing retail shops & additional specialty shops providing an increase in retail shop floor area of some 932 sqm (total 5982 sqm). Consulting rooms for possible surgery. Concrete panels, corrugated metal cladding, featured timber cladding, clear glazing, steel framing, skylights. Existing supermarket to be utilised as an undercover carpark for approx 114 cars. Retention of existing carparking areas & proposed alterations to carpark adjacent Gawler Street providing an overall total of 568 car spaces (including the undercover car parking area). Proposed variation comprises: Demolition of the existing retail building along the western boundary & construction of a new retail building in it place: retention of the existing retail building adjacent Gawler Street; realignment of the ALDI loading dock (loading area B): retention of the existing Gawler Street vehicle access point & associated car parking area; deletion of medical centre mezzanine; reduction in the roof area of the supermarket loading dock; alterations to the Gawler Street & Murray Street frontages. Stage 1 will comprise the majority of the development including all of the large retail tenancies, medical centre & town square. The floor area within the completed stage 1 development will be 12,040 sqm. The proposed floor areas that form part of stage 1 of the project are summarised below: 1) Supermarket - 4,877 sqm plus mezzanine of 617 sqm, total 5,494 sqm; 2) Specialty Retail - 6,206 sqm; 3) Medical - 340 sqm; 4) 508 on site car parking spaces, including 10 disabled parking spaces.
