About This Project


Overall construction of bus station will occur over 4 stages. New pedestrian zebra crossings at Gungahlin Place/Ernerst Cavanagh Street intersection. Signalisation of the Gungahlin Place/Hibberson Street intersection. Re-prioritisation of Gungahlin Place/Efkarpidis Street. Changes to Gungahlin Place/The Valley Avenue intersection. Signalisation of the Gozzard Street/Ernst Cavanagh Street intersection. Widening of Gungahlin Place south road carriageways into the median. Stage 1 - Reconstruct the central median of Gungahlin Place north & the northern section of the Gungahlin Place south median. Hibberson Street at the Gungahlin Place median will be closed & through traffic between Hibberson Street east & west will be stopped Access to loading dock via manual traffic control. Pedestrians can continue to access shopfronts on the eastern & western verges. Temporary security fencing prevents pedestrians navigating into the construction site. Loading zones & waste collection access can be maintained. Works to the northern extents of the median under manual traffic control. Construction of shared trench crossing of Hibberson Street & Gungahlin Place east under manual traffic control. Stage 2 - Reconstruct the east & west verges of Gungahlin Place north. Pedestrians continue to access shopfronts on the eastern & western verges via walkways secured with temporary fencing. Access to loading dock via manual traffic control. Works to the northern extents of the verges adjacent to Ernest Cavanagh Street under manual traffic control. Works to the northern verge adjacent to Hibberson Street east under manual traffic control. Hibberson Street west closed to through traffic. Hibberson Street to be closed at Hinder Street. Temporary security fencing prevents pedestrians navigating into the construction site. Stage 4 - Construct pavement widening to Gungahlin Place between Efkarpidis Street & The Valley Avenue. Pedestrian crossings across the median within the work zone will be maintained & relocated to avoid active work areas. Alterations to The Valley Avenue traffic islands under manual traffic control. Construct pedestrian footpaths at The Valley Avenue Intersection under manual traffic control. Pedestrian line of travel is not to be obstructed during the completion of verge works. Removal of traffic islands, reinstate full depth asphaltic concrete. Concrete wall finishes, platform structures, weathered timber post & fences. Associated car parking, landscaping & earthworks.
