About This Project

Fitout and internal reconfigurations of the lower ground and level 1 to 6 of the existing Biological Sciences Building (Building D26). It is proposed to retain structural elements of the existing building, including columns, stairs, cores and east and west walls. It is proposed to demolish the majority of the current building, with the exception of the main elements of structure. Excludes ground floor that was included in Stage 1. Landscaping works to Michael Birt Garden (to the north of Building D26). Lower ground floor: support services + plant and equipment 1,368sq m. Level 1: teaching and anatomy 1,843sq m. Level 2: workplace and laboratory 1,795sq m. Level 3: workplace and laboratory 1,795sq m. Level 4: workplace and laboratory 1,795sq m. Level 5: workplace and laboratory 1,795sq m. Level 6: animal house 1,513sq m. The office/workplace areas feature open work areas and individual offices with meeting rooms and kitchenettes. The laboratory spaces consist of open laboratory areas and smaller support laboratories.
