The latest research from Canberra Cityscope shows property sales have increased in the past three months.

Sales recorded in the quarter to March 2019 totalled $44.5 million, an increase from the $35 million recorded in the three months to December 2018.

The data brings the 12-month total to $361.9 million, a decrease from the $565.6 million recorded the same time last year.

Notable sales in the March 2019 update of Canberra Cityscope include:

  • 17 Moore Street, City
    A seven-storey office building with three levels of basement parking for 77 cars and a net lettable area of 6,291 sqm; built in 1987, which was sold for $20.65 million;
  • Northpoint Plaza at 8 Chandler Street, Belconnen
    A three-storey building with basement parking for 55 cars and a net lettable area of 4,392 sqm; built in 1987, which was sold for $7 million and
  • Unit 2 at 108 Emu Bank, Belconnen
    A 600 sqm single-storey retail unit in a two-unit building, completed in 1994, which was sold for $2.51 million.

Properties listed as for sale in the March 2019 update of Canberra Cityscope include:

  • Mantra MacArthur Hotel at 219 Northbourne Avenue, Turner
    4-star hotel comprising 136 studios and 40 one and two bedroom apartments. The hotel was converted from the former Northbourne House, a 10-storey office tower and includes a restaurant, bar, conference rooms, gym and a two-level underground car park for 65 vehicles and on grade parking, which is for sale through JLL Canberra, Savills Canberra, Savills Sydney and JLL Hotels;
  • Optus Centre at 10 Moore Street, City
    A six-storey office and showroom building with a net lettable office area of 7,009 sqm and basement parking, which is for sale through Colliers International Canberra and JLL Canberra and
  • Three retail units in Mode3Braddon at 22 Lonsdale Street, Braddon
    Lot 137, a 143 sqm retail unit on the ground level and 27sqm on basement level one; Lot 138, a 148 sqm retail unit on the ground level and 29 sqm on basement level one and Lot 142, a 54 sqm retail unit on ground level and 21 sqm on basement level one, are for auction in April through Capital Commercial Business Sales.
