Sydney Metro Marches On

Sydney Metro’s plans for the future Hunter Street Station in the CBD are moving along, with the NSW government body purchasing over $60 million worth of units recently that are currently on the future sites. Hunter Street Station will be in the midst of the financial district on the corner of Hunter and George Streets and Bligh and O’Connell Streets.

Additionally the former John Hunter House at 9 Hunter Street was purchased by Sydney Metro for $344 million. The building, completed in 1983, has 21 levels of office space and a one-level gymnasium and sports centre. The office tower is above and integrated with the Hunter Connection retail space. It has a net lettable office area of 15,793 sqm and typical floor plates 950 sqm. Expected commencement date of the new station is 2025 and completion 2028.

The former John Hunter House last traded in 2017 at $195,251,758.
