About This Project

Remediation of the former Mardi landfill site. Scope of work includes: upgrading existing vehicle access points off McPherson Rd for construction & service vehicles. Stockpiling clean fill on land to the west of the landfill. Earthworks to redistribute the existing landfill capping (without disturbing the underlying landfill waste). Placing the stockpiled clean fill over the site to provide a thicker, less permeable 'cap'. Leachate collection, storage & disposal, initially through reinjection into the landfill & ultimately to the reticulates sewerage system. Grassing & landscaping the remediated landfill & constructing a perimeter trail & connecting walking/cycle trails. Replacement of groundwater monitoring wells & fence adjustments
