About This Project


The Kalbarri National Park draft management plan has been prepared to address present management & plan for future needs, to ensure the values will be conserved in the long term. The plan is to highlight management priorities on the following: managing cultural heritage, visitor use, involving the community, managing the natural environment & resource usage & research & monitoring. The main focus for managing the natural environment in this plan is to: conserve areas of geological significance, flora & fauna, minimise the impacts of introduced animals, environmental weeds & inappropriate fire regimes on the park's key values, also included in the plan is to improve access within the park with the sealing of The Loop Z-Bend road to Murchison Gorge recreation sites; continue to maintain & improve existing recreation sites & opportunities.
