About This Project

Scope of works & initial investigations. Review of the existing (2010) design & re-design. The existing design & hydraulic model needs to be revisited & revised. The existing design is included in Appendix A. The scope of works is summarised as follows: a) Additional detailed engineering survey & revised engineering design for proposed arterial drains in the Port Rd central median from Old Port Rd, Queenstown to Park St South, Woodville Park: b) Removal of previously proposed detention basins between Old Port Rd & Woodville Rd; c) Extension of car parking in the central median at Botting St, Albert Park as shown in Appendix B. New car park to accommodate 14 additional car parking lots; d) Car parking (opposite Botting St intersection) to be lowered in order to minimise stormwater inundation of Botting St, Lawrence St & Port Rd. Hydraulic modelling is required to demonstrate the effect of using the car park as a detention basin to reduce the effects of storm water inundation around Botting St/Lawrence St & quantify the frequency & depth of inundation of the car park: e) Existing laterals are to be connected to the new arterial drain as conventional drains & not as wet systems. The design of the arterial drain must allow for this; f) Detailed design of three upgraded laterals within the limit of the Port Rd corridor and checks to ensure that the upgrading proposed does not restrict subsequent upgrading of the remainder of each lateral system in the future, to the required standard: g) Deletion of all streetscape works shown in the current plans: h) Revised DRAINS and Tuflow model for the whole catchment to demonstrate pre & post 5 year ARI and 100 year ARI stormwater inundation. Existing DRAINS & Tuflow models will be supplied to the successful tenderer.
