About This Project

Tonkin Consulting has been engaged by the Principal to provide Design, Specifications & Cost Estimation consultancy services for the Goolwa Waste & Recycling Depot Upgrade Project. The Upgrade Project will be made up of the following contractor packages, which have been developed by Tonkin Consulting: 1) Waste Transfer Shed (WTS) Design & Construct package; 2) FRWA Regional Office & Weighbridge Design & Construct package; 3) FRWA Workshop Design & Construct package; & 4) Earthworks, Services & Roads Construct only package. This document is a Request for Tenders for the Mechanical Workshop (18 metre x 12 metre) Design & Construction package. The Tenderer will be responsible for the design, statutory approvals & construction of the facility to the satisfaction of the Council. Scope of Work: It is the Tenderers responsibility to design & construct a fully functional & operational mechanical workshop. The scope of work to undertake this necessarily consist of the following items, as a minimum: 1) Detailed design of the works, including any temporary works required for construction; 2) Provision of the work-in-progress design at nominated stages for stakeholder review & comment; 3) Any additional site investigation &/or site documentation works considered necessary by the Tenderer in order to undertake the detailed design; 4) Safety in Design review in consultation with the facility owner (Council) & operator (FRWA): 5) Building Rules consent & therefore the obtainment of Development Approval, based on the Tenderers detailed design; 6) Earthworks to establish a building platform for the workshop; 7) All concrete works associated with the workshop (including the shed footings & floor); 8) All structural steel works; 9) The design, installation & commissioning of all building services associated with the workshop (potable water, compressed air, internal & external lighting, electrical distribution, security system, fire detection & communications): 10) Design & installation of fire services in accordance with the Building Code of Australia & current Regulations & Australian Standards; 11) The co-ordination of connection to services external to the proposed work site, where required; 12) Provision of QA documentations, Certificates of Compliance, Certificates of Occupancy As Built drawings; & 13) Fulfill the contractual requirements of the Defects Liability Period. Obvious Work: The Tenderer shall design & construct any items which are obviously necessary for the functioning of the mechanical workshop or which are generally provided even though such work may not be explicitly mentioned in the Tender.
