About This Project


Remediation of existing steel stair located at the southern side of Dr May Booth Lookout Reserve. Scope of work includes: access & safety. Dismantling & storage of stair/walkway components. Removal of any loose or flaking protective coating/s from mild steel components. Removal of surface corrosion from mild steel components. Replacement of corroded steel components. Application of a conductive, adhesive backed zinc tape to the steel components as corrosion protection. Application of an etch primer to the zinc tape. Application of a new protective coating system. Application of a UV-resistant epoxy sealant at joints between concrete landings and steel edge beams. Removal of corrosion, re-galvanizing and reinstatement of the grated steel stair treads. Replacement of neoprene rubber grommets & packers. Installation of new slip-resistant stair nosing. Removal of corrosion 'tea' staining & application of a protective coating to the stainless steel handrails and tensile cables.
