About This Project

The Principal is seeking Expressions of Interest for Building Services for the the Norwood Oval Redevelopment Project. The Services are to Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fire Protection & Lift Services. The current proposal is to upgrade the existing grandstands at Norwood Oval comprising: 1) Demolition of the existing Baulderstone Stand; 2) Partial demolition of the Western Stand; 3) External & interior alterations to the local heritage listed Sir E T Smith Stand; 4) Demolition of the attached toilet building to the rear of the Sir E T Smith Stand; The ground floor level of the new grandstand will provide the following elements; a) A Premiers Bar of 146 sqm floor area & bar; b) Two separate access points from Woods Street with entrance foyer; c) A commercial kitchen; d) Store rooms, cool room, freezer room, services access, dumbwaiter, & lift; e) Public amenities; The first floor level of the new grandstand will provide the following elements; 1) A members facility & function room of 243 sqm floor area for up to 180 patrons; 2) A podium; 3) Store rooms, cool rooms, plant room, dumbwaiter & lift; 4) A bar & kitchenette; 5) Public amenities; 6) Refurbished office area. At both floor levels, the new grandstand will feature extensive glazing to provide as uninterrupted view of the playing field. The first floor level of the new grandstand will extend outward over the ground floor level both towards the playing field & over the public realm of Woods Street. The redevelopment will provide disability access & include a new lift. The project will include the redevelopment of the forecourt between the oval & the Parade & the rationalisation of traffic movement to Woods Street. This shall include the reconfiguration of onsite carparking.
