Auction Market Preview - 18 May 2025

Just over 1,600 homes set for auction across the combined capitals

There are currently 1,636 homes scheduled for auction across the combined capitals this week, down from 1,735 last week and 2,146 this time last year.

Melbourne is expected to host the most auctions, with 751 homes currently scheduled to go under the hammer this week. Last week saw 799 auctions held across the city, while this time last year, 1,009 Melbourne homes were taken to auction.

There are 547 auctions scheduled in Sydney this week, down from 656 last week and 725 over the same week last year.

Across the smaller capitals, Adelaide is set to host the most auctions this week (136), followed by Brisbane (133) and Canberra (62). There are just five auctions scheduled in Perth and two in Tasmania.

We are expecting auction activity to increase next week, with around 2,230 homes currently scheduled for auction across the combined capitals.
