Sales recorded for Melbourne Units Cityscope for the three months to November 2020 totalled $494.7 million from 648 sales, a significant increase in terms of both sales value and sales number, compared to the $133.2 million from 224 sales recorded for the quarter to August 2020 and the $145.7 million from 264 sales recorded for the quarter to May 2020. It is largely due to the inclusion of two new buildings, Melbourne Grand Apartments and residential component in Collins Arch.

The latest data brings the twelve-month sales total to $1.195 billion, a decrease from the previous twelve months, which recorded sales of close to $1.969 billion.

Some notable sales featured in the November 2020 update of Melbourne Units Cityscope include:

  • Unit 62 in Sargood House, known as Unit 602 at 73 Flinders Lane, Melbourne and penthouse 2, a 3-bedroom plus study 3-storey apartment in the 8-level brick and concrete building, built in 1926 by Frederick Sargood as a textile manufacturing warehouse for Sargood and Gardiner, and converted into 24 residential apartments in 1998. This unit has 306 sqm over levels 6 to 8, plus 196 sqm deck and 10 sqm balcony, double car space and storage, which was bought for $4.9 million;
  • Unit 3 in the 7-level building at 183-185 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, a mixed-use building comprising a ground and first-floor showroom/gallery and apartments on upper floors plus a rooftop garden, completed in 1924 and refurbished in 1992. This unit comprises the whole level 2, which was bought for $3.9 million; and
  • Unit 2205 in Collins Arch at 433-455 Collins Street, Melbourne, a mixed-use development with a twin-tower, comprising 49,000 sqm of office space, 202 apartments and a 5-star hotel with 294 rooms known as the W Hotel. Unit 2205 is a south and east facing 3-bedroom residential apartment with a terrace on level 22 in the East Tower plus a car space and storage areas, all on basement level 4, which was bought for just under $3.405 million.
