Once you’ve setup your rp.connect page, how do you drive traffic to it? How do you promote it to ensure you actually receive visitors to it, and hopefully leads through it?

There are a number of things you can do to promote your rp.connect site to increase your exposure – and RP Data also helps in a couple of ways too.

What You Can Do:

1. Have Great Content

One of the keys to ranking well in search engines is to have great content – they love it. Content that is timely, relevant and regularly updated will ensure search engines continue to crawl through and index your site, helping your ranking for relevant search terms and keywords.

Funnily enough, humans love great content too. If you have information that people find useful or interesting, they’re more likely to be return visitors. They’re also more likely to share your site and your content with their friends – either by social media, email, on blogs or forums etc. The more ‘shareable’ your content is, the more visitors you’ll get.

This content can include writing blog posts, as well as posting updates on twitter and facebook.  But what do you write? Try this great post by Greg for some ideas: Finding Something to say on Twitter and Facebook.

Look out for more future blog posts which will help you with some ideas about the type of content you can publish on your blogs or social media channels.

2. Get Links to your Site

The more incoming links to your site, the better your site will rank in search engines, and the more likely your site will be found by buyers, sellers or investors.

Having great content (explained above) will give people a reason to link to your site or your blog posts.

3. Be the Local Expert

You should also position yourself as the local expert – know the market trends, industry analysis, suburb profiles and demographics. Do your research using RP Professional, and/or use RP Data’s Research Blog posts, Facebook updates or Tweets to find interesting things to say. Have an opinion. Comment on other people’s blog posts, forums, facebook pages or groups.

These will all have the knock-on effect of building your brand and your profile and driving traffic back to your site.

4. Cross-Promotion through your other Profiles and Marketing Channels

Where and how are YOU referring to your rp.connect site? Here are a few questions to give you some ideas of things you should be doing:

  • Do you have a link to your rp.connect site on your Facebook profile or page?
  • Do you have a link to your rp.connect site on your Twitter profile?
  • Once you publish a new blog post on rp.connect, are you linking people to it through your Facebook and Twitter status updates?
  • Does your agency website have a link to your rp.connect site?
  • Is it printed on your business cards?
  • Do you have a link in your email signatures?
  • Have you mentioned and linked to your rp.connect site in your e-newsletters and other email marketing?
  • Are you using your rp.connect site URL as your ‘website address’ when you comment on other people’s blogs or in forums?

If you answered ‘No’ to some or all of those – now’s the time to start acting on them. If you’re not referring to your rp.connect site, you’re not helping consumers find you.

To help with links on your website or email signatures, you are free to use the logos/buttons below to link to your rp.connect site.

How RP Data Helps:

RP Data promotes you on MyRPData.com.au

Property buyers, sellers and investors use RP Data’s consumer portal, myrpdata.com.au, to research property, buy property reports and more. MyRPData.com.au is Australia’s leading consumer property reports site, with over 2 million visitors per annum and 600,000 reports downloaded.

RP Data promotes rp.connect powered agents on MyRPData.com.au in two ways:

1. Through the Map Search

By choosing your focus suburbs in your rp.connect account settings, consumers who search for property information in those suburbs will see your ad block on the right-hand side of the map. The list of agents returned is randomised with ‘share of voice’, so everyone gets a chance to appear on the first page. The ad blocks are refreshed with a new set returned every 90 seconds or every refresh.

2. Through the ‘Find a Professional’ tab

Consumers can use our Professional Services Directory to find all real estate professionals. In the ‘Find a Professional’ tab, consumers can search either by your name, your agency name, or your suburb, and matching agents will be returned.
