1. New Testimonials Widget – Add Testimonials and display them in a widget

You can now show off the good news stories and share how you have helped your past clients by activating the new Testimonials widget.

You can watch the short video above, or follow the guide below for instructions on how to enable it for your rp.connect site.

You can choose to display one or more of your testimonials on your homepage widget, and they will transition (fade out, fade in) after a set number of seconds.

Your visitors can choose to click on a single testimonial to read more, or choose to see all testimonials.

You can choose a new title for the widget, and you can also set the Transition Delay. The transition delay is the number of seconds each testimonial is displayed for, before the next one is faded in. You can set the delay to zero to only show the most recent ‘displayed’ testimonial.

Enter your Testimonials

From your dashboard, go to the new Testimonials tab to add and edit your testimonials.

If the ‘Display’ checkbox is checked, the testimonial will show in rotation on your homepage widget. The ‘Transition Delay’ in your widget settings dictates how long each testimonial is displayed for.

2. Enhanced Facebook Widget – Now pulling in images, links and videos from your Facebook feed

Previously, the Facebook widget only pulled in text-based status updates from your Facebook feed, and did not show your links, image or video status updates.

Now, your Facebook widget will display all status update types, including images, links, videos and text-based updates. This change better reflects the usage patterns on Facebook, where sharing and posting of links and images is much more common than simple text-based updates.

This enhancement is automatically applied to everyone, so there’s nothing you need to do except keep posting regular, interesting and engaging updates on Facebook!

If you haven’t yet activated the Facebook widget, now’s your chance to give it a try.

3. Email Reminder to keep your site fresh and up-to-date

As a gentle prod to remind you to login to rp.connect and post new content, a friendly email reminder is sent to you if you have not logged into rp.connect in the last 30 days. To get the most out of your rp.connect website it is important to keep it up-to-date with regular blog posts, updates to social media, current listings, sales successes and more.

Why you should update your rp.connect site regularly

  • Helps maintain an ongoing relationship with your customers, and visitors that see a fresh, regularly updated website are more likely to want to engage with you than if they see a website that hasn’t been updated in a long time.
  • Regular new content receive more traffic over time. Every new blog post, tweet or status update, current listings or recent sales listing you add to your website is more content that can be indexed by the search engines.
  • It increases your chances of new and repeat visitors, and will assist in a better search engine ranking.

4. Support for the ‘Mortgage Lender’ industry

When you register your rp.connect site or modify your site in the Account Details screen, you now have the option of the following industry types:

  • Real Estate Agent
  • Mortgage Broker
  • Mortgage Lender (new!)
  • Valuer

Currently, the choice of industry is reflected in your page title, as well as in your profile block when customers search and filter for professionals on MyRPData.com.

5. Spam checking in the Contact Email form

We’ve added some additional spam checking in the Contact Email forms to help prevent spam bots from sending you junk email and spam through your rp.connect site.

If you still receive spam through your rp.connect contact form, please get in touch with us by forwarding a sample of the email to [email protected], so we can work on new ways to prevent spam emails from reaching you.
