The latest research from Chatswood Cityscope shows that commercial property sales in the areas covered by it have increased dramatically in total sales value, due to the transaction of the Zenith Centre. For the quarter to June 2019 there were 15 sales at a total sales value of $455.8 million, compared to the 17 sales at a total value of $28.2 million for the previous quarter. The yearly figures have decreased, with 77 sales at a total value of $1.04 billion for the twelve months to June 2019, compared to the 98 sales at a total value of $1.066 billion for the previous year.

Notable sales in the June 2019 update of Chatswood Cityscope include:

  • Zenith Centre comprising Tower A and Tower B at 821 Pacific Highway, Chatswood
    A twin tower of 21-storey, A-grade office complex, completed in 1987. The complex includes the Zenith Theatre, a 250-seat community theatre to McIntosh Street. The two towers are connected by a pavilion, and there are five levels of basement parking for 818 cars. Total net lettable area of the complex is 44,300 sqm, with office space of 43,400 sqm and retail space of 900 sqm, which were bought for $438.2 million;
  • Lot 33 at Sailors Bay Apartments at 58-68 Strathallen Avenue, Northbridge
    A 396 sqm commercial space on the ground level plus a total of seven car spaces on the upper basement and a 10 sqm storage on the lower basement, which was bought for $2.65 million and
  • 6 Carlotta Street, Artarmon
    A single-storey brick building with a single-storey brick workshop to the rear on a 809 sqm block, which was bought for $2.37 million.
