The latest research from Auckland Cityscope shows that property sales value have decreased over the past three months. 

In the three months to February 2019, there were 28 sales for a total of $296.7 million, as compared with 22 sales for a total of $360.6 million recorded for the three months to November 2018, and a decrease from the 53 sales at a total of $1.117 billion recorded for the three months to August 2018.  

The latest data brings the total sales for the 12 months to $2.117 billion, a significant increase from the $1.263 billion in sales recorded to the same time last year.

Notable sales in February 2019 update of Auckland Cityscope include: 

  • The Imperial Buildings, comprising leasehold of a five-storey building plus basement with retail space on the ground floor at 44 Queen Street, Auckland Central and a five-storey building with retail space on the ground floor at 48 Queen Street, Auckland Central; both buildings were redeveloped and refurbished internally in mid 2012; and a 3-storey building with shops on the ground floor at 56 Queen Street, Auckland Central, which were sold together for $75 million; 
  • West Plaza at 3 Albert Street, Auckland Central, comprising a 20-storey building with parking for 24 cars; completed in 1975 and internally refurbished in 2008, which was sold for $45 million and 
  • 246 Tower at 246 Queen Street, Auckland, an eight-storey retail/office building with two retail floors, a retail mezzanine and six office floors, has an area of 8,144 sqm, which was sold for $38.5 million.

Properties listed as for sale in the February 2019 of Auckland Cityscope include:

  • A 2-storey retail building at 270-274 Karangahape Road, Newton, built circa 1920 with a gross floor area of 650 sqm on a 304 sqm block, which is available through Bayleys Auckland Central;
