Selling in a challenging COVID-19 market are two Sydney CBD buildings at 114 Castlereagh Street and 139 Elizabeth Street. In a sale arranged by James Aroney and Mitch Noonan of JLL the properties have sold together for $46 million on behalf of well-known hotelier, Kim Maloney of Bondi Beach.
George Bosch Chambers at 114 Castlereagh Street is a seven-storey building built in 1924 and renovated in 1985. With a building area of 2,280 sqm, the St James Hotel occupies the lower ground, ground and first level. Tenants such as the Australian Harbour International College, QIBA - Global Education Australia and Hunt Partners Solicitors occupy upper levels.
139 Elizabeth Street is a four-storey building occupied by Levendi Jewellers and wonderfully located opposite Hyde Park and St James Station. Both buildings are also close neighbours to David Jones, Centrepoint and the locally known Luxury Precinct.
They last traded together at $17.925 million in 2005.
