A large piece of vacant land on St Kilda Road in Melbourne has been put on the market through Colliers International. Tim Chang and Michael Xie of 596 St Kilda Road Pty Ltd and developer, Everland Global, are selling the 1,804 sqm block. The site was formerly occupied by The Clivedon, a 3-storey brick block of nineteem flats which were originally residential then mixed commercial and residential use. The Clivedon was built 1938 and demolished in early 2019.
The development site comes with DA approval for a Bates Smart designed luxury block of 101 residential apartments over 19 levels. The area has seen a swing towards high end residential development in recent years including Botanic Melbourne, completed earlier this year and The Muse, also on St Kilda Road. The Muse is to be a 15-storey residential building comprising 42 oversize apartments with 24-hour concierge, 25 metre lap pool, relaxation pool, spa and a residents' Club lounge. The almost complete Victoriana development, also, will offer its apartment owners an indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, gym, outdoor terrace and lounge and dining rooms with a restaurant & café.
The whole former building was bought for $34 million by 596 St Kilda Road Pty Ltd in 2017.
