The latest research from Sydney Units Cityscope shows that apartment sales in Sydney’s CBD have decreased in total sales value in the last quarter. The last three months to October 2020 recorded 99 sales for a total of $146.2 million, compared to the 124 sales for a total of $199.4 million recorded in the quarter to July 2020, and the 132 sales at a total value of $187.6 million recorded for the quarter to April 2020.

The 12 months leading up to October 2020 recorded 476 sales for a total of $696.6 million, a decrease from the 1,911 sales for a total of $2.677 billion, for the same time period the year before.

Notable sales this quarter include: 

  • Lot 8, known as unit 14, in The Georgia, at 155 Kent Street, comprising a 238 sqm three bedroom unit on level 14 (including approximately 24 sqm of balcony space) and 37 sqm of parking on level 1, was bought for $5.95 million;
  • Unit 2503 in Highgate at 127-153 Kent Street, a 146-sqm, two-bedroom unit with a balcony, on the twenty-fifth floor, facing east, which was sold with three car spaces and a storage lot for $5.15 million and
  • Lot 124, known as unit 3201 at One30 Hyde Park, 130-134 Elizabeth Street, a 147 sqm 3-bedroom apartment including a north facing winter garden on level thirty-two plus a 26 sqm accessible car space and 2 sqm storage area, both on basement level 3, which was bought for $4.755 million.
